Vintage Easter Digital Kit Special

March 12th, 2010

Just think of all the projects you’ll create using these sweet, vintage Easter images. I really love the 100 year old post cards (I found them in a little town in Texas), but I particularly love the jelly bean papers that can be printed as a solid or as a transparancy to lay over any color you choose. I find these images charming and nostalgic. Still, we’ve tried to spice them up with some hand made tags, grosgrain ribbon elements, and vintage buttons. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Steampunk Birdie!

February 5th, 2010

We showed this 11” paper mache (made from recycled paper of course) Bird on a Pedestal at the recent CHA show in California. If you’re looking for something to decorate, this bird is a lot of fun. We gave a class at CHA and everyone made the most wonderful creations!

I have always loved the Steampunk art movement. For those of you that are not familiar with this style, it is (in a nut shell) art that is based on elements from the Industrial Age era (1850’s to early 1900’s) combined with fantasy or out-of-context elements. Jules Verne is responsible for much of my Steampunk enthusiasm. One of my favorite movies (visually) is Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea—a perfect example of Steampunk. Anyway, when we were creating our paper mache product line (we call them “substrates”) I couldn’t resist making this little birdie sitting on a pedestal, sitting on a ball. I thought it would make a great object to do in the Streampunk style. I taught a class at CHA and all the variations of this same bird were amazing! I am always blown away by the creative interpretations of others, so here is my version and one of the class participants. They were all fantastic. I would love to see what anyone else does with this little bird sculpture.

CHA 2010

February 5th, 2010

We thought we’d share a few pictures of CHA to show what a fine time we had and to introduce you to the “Green Team”. CHA is full of energy and this winter show seems to be where a majority of companies show their product launches, so there is always lots to see and loads of activity. Eco Green Crafts made a big splash www.clnonline.com/sceneandheard.html. The Cricut Cake Machine was lots of fun and we made cupcakes at their booth. It cuts fondant. Yum!

Matt and Alex are normally in the office working on graphics

the make-it-take-it table. Hey, we found a “Stampin’Man!

Doesn’t she look dreamy in this vintage gown?

Steampunk Stamp Sets

December 14th, 2009

At last we have some Steampunk stamp images!

These two sets are made to add a touch of that vintage Industrial Age look that we all love! Use them with all your favorite images to transform your images to the Steampunk style.

Steampunk Plate 1:

Steampunk Accessories 1

This set is filled with Steampunk essentials; a ruler, steam chimney, grid, ship’s telegraph (redesigned with inspirational words), a Steampunk collage, screw tops and washer (with tiny words to over-stamp on them), and a great old railroad tag from London.

Steampunk Plate 2:

Steampunk Accessories 2

Not only does this set have a great collection of washers, metal backgrounds and grids; it has a wonderful collection of inspiring words that can be over-stamped onto any of those images.

We’ve done the math here - the words fit neatly inside and outside the washers and also into the panels on the rivet panel. Just for fun we threw in some favorite images (a yin/yang and a peace symbol) done Steampunk style.
